Our Commitment
Maples Landscaping is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.
Standards
We are working toward conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including:
- Visual impairments (blindness, low vision, color blindness)
- Hearing impairments
- Motor impairments
- Cognitive disabilities
Measures We Take
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy
- Descriptive alt text on all images
- Sufficient color contrast ratios for text readability
- Keyboard-navigable interface
- ARIA labels on interactive elements
- Responsive design that works across devices and screen sizes
- Click-to-call phone numbers for easy mobile access
- Interactive controls sized to at least 44x44 CSS pixels to satisfy WCAG 2.2 Success Criterion 2.5.8 (Target Size, Minimum)
Known Limitations
We are aware of certain limitations including the auto-rotating hero carousel which may not announce slide transitions to all screen readers. We respect users who set their system to reduce motion: the carousel pauses automatically when prefers-reduced-motion is enabled.
Other areas we are actively improving:
- Some placeholder images may have generic alt text until replaced with actual project photos
- The hero image carousel may not fully announce slide transitions to all screen readers
We are actively working to address these limitations as we continue developing the site.
